Warwick/Cassian Pseudo-Summary: More “Boredom” and Its Consequences
Thought you might find a few Phaulkonian tid-bits interesting. Please
forgive stream-of-conciousness …
1. C&W were bored. As a result, they had a very expensive (like minus
50K), very brief debacle near the Horn of Iggwilv. They fought a
mammoth-sized spider that shot flames and petrification rays from its eyes,
the spider was also capable of overturning the portable stone cabin that
Warwick uses … Warwick got petrified and the whole business was very
useless.
2. Cassian (minus Warwick, who was petrified and hidden) encountered Lludd
and refused to pay tribute. She lived. Lludd was somewhat perplexed and
resigned to his failed extortion attempt. -

(Pardon my inaccuracies in advance—I’ll edit this with any corrections people want me to make)
The Larry Consortium Official Treasury continues to bounce up and down wildly. This disturbing flux of funds caused the party to seek out additional treasure once again.
We decided that with the increase in our melee power, we would finally attempt to eliminate the two groups of hook horrors that we had encountered.
We set out for the first group, in a gaping hole dungeon in the side of the mountain. We decided to make sure that the old nearby ettin lair was still clear, which proved quite wise…
The party for the first expedition was Standish, Brigling, Halacar, and Browork. We were suddenly beset by some sort of mutated troll being. It leapt at the front of the party and dealt out incredible punishment to Standish, who stood his ground but collapsed with stunning quickness, and was pulled to the side and restored by Browork. Halacar attacked with uncharacteristic ferocity and greatly injured the creature. Cromwell the war dog got into the action as well. But the most spectacular moments were when Brigling managed to sneak up behind the creature and bury his magical sword in its back TWICE. Although Halacar sustained a beating, Brigling brought the creature down, and we anxiously poured acid on it. It stayed dead. -

Warwick and Cassian battle Obmi and avoid armies of giants trying to steal a dragon’s horde from inside the mountain under the aarocockra. A deva is summoned and it battles ineffectually with the ethereal Obmi until finally the dwarven villain is forced to withdraw. He is caught out in the open and killed… but not for good, it appears…
NOTE: I’m not sure if this summary comes before or after Rage Against Ignorance.

Cassian and Warwick were bored. Sure, they’d recently saved a
Phaulkonian holy site, recovered a Dragon’s hoard, and destroyed a
clone of Obmi, but what were they going to do next weekend? Warwick
spent thousands on Shabrundian sage research, looking for cool things
to do in the mountains north of Cromwell. Out of the dozen or so
leads, they selected an innocuous adventure – a rumored lost city
underneath the valley of the Noblink, located in the shadow of the
Horn of Iggwilv. “Look over your shoulder” The Phaulkonian duo
hoped to find an underground adventuring locale, allowing them to
spend a productive winter in the mountains. Since very few adventure
areas in Cromwell remained unplundered (by the current King, Stone
Soules, etc.) Warwick was not optimistic about the prospects for
wealth.
Early research indicated that there was only one way into the lost
city, and that the noblink gave yearly tribute to some monster at the
entrance. When Cassian and Warwick arrived, the not-so-unhelpful
noblink confirmed those facts. Using the direct approach, the
Phaulkonian heroes announced their intention to explore the city.
The noblink agreed to let them have rights to all treasure, minus
10%, if they would destroy the demon who demanded tribute.
Additionally, they would spare the hostage dwarves who had been
slated as this year’s current sacrifice. They were scheduled for
sacrifice at midnight on December 20, the longest night of the year.
The sacrifice would occur in two weeks. -

And the Pickup Party of Dread, the Larry Consortium, springs back into action
Joining the traditional four members were some one time friends Jim, Zero, and Duran, along with new invitees James, Flechette, and Harry (short for something I can’t quite recall). James is a powerful paladin wielding the scimitar. Flechette is a durable and dangerous halfling bow specialist who uses the short composite bow. Heri is our friendly neighborhood cleric.
We tromped back into the cave with the hydra and dead gnome in it (among other things). Exploring additional passages we came upon a large “warehouse” room. It was immensely large, and we simply followed one of the walls to another archway. As we were about to pass the archway, Halacar felt something land on his head.
He put his hand on his helmet, and he felt goo. And his hand was stuck.
Then his helmet started rising in the air. He was being reeled toward the ceiling! -
The Seventh Telvar Open Summary: The Mountain of Thunder
21 July 2001 / 8 December 2191 B.Y.
“Boom!”
When an artifact is threatened with annihilation, it is said that even the Fates may intervene.
Introduction:
In 2191, deep in the Adventuring Reserve (which lies deep within the Imperial Realm), sits the Mountain of Thunder. It gets its name from the peak, which is a massive volcano that spews acid and gas every thirty seconds, on cue, boiling violently up into the sky. The Mountain is worshipped by troglodytes as a sign of their demonic gods, and they frequently throw sacrifices (and occasionally honored fallen comrades) into the depths from a platform in the interior. They have a huge Temple complex and city surrounding the Mountain. -
The Balinor Chronicles Vol. 1: Tales of Legend and Horror
Party Roster:
Balinor Buckannah, 8th level human fighter, 76 hp, played by Joel Green
Kodo Buckannah, 6th level human woodsman, 67 hp, played by Katherine Anderson
Reinhold, 4th level human barbarian, 66 hp, played by Mark Wagoner
Morhion Gendahar, 1st level human cleric, 10 hp, henchman of Balinor
Yes, you read correctly. Some weirdo actually likes Balinor enough to become his henchman. Some people.
Well, here’s my story, such as it is. It’s a tale of a great deal of confusion.
In early 2190, Balinor decided to visit his family and see how things were back in his very small village. Kodo, Balinor’s larger and younger brother, decided to tag along. The two of them traveled by caravan through Teft all the way to the Latt border. Finally they had reached the edge of civilization in Latt, a fishing village of a few hundred Northerners. Balinor visited the Nevronian Church there, where he had originally been introduced to the religion, and met Morhion, a friendly and sturdy cleric, and a childhood friend. Morhion was attracted to the adventuring life that Balinor now led, and decided to tag along and learn what he could.
The trio set off and headed off toward the hometown village in the mountains. Travel was moderately rough, but they arrived uneventfully in town, or rather, the eighty person village.
There was much belching and rejoicing as the whole Buckannah family got together for a great deal of eating and drinking and brawling.
Then a more serious matter arose. -
Wizard Mountain #8: The Great Escape
A brief Wizard Mountain Interlude: (events of 12/30/00)
Halacar, 4th level halfling fighter, played by Joel
Standish, 4th level half-orc fighter, played by Katherine
Brigling, 5th level halfling thief, played by Katherine
Browork, 4th level dwarven cleric, played by Joel
Continuing our exploration of the Wizard’s Mountain, we decided to fill in
some passageways in the dungeon containing the sarcophagi that we had
shied away from (this was also the troglodyte dungeon, and had a nasty
bugbear fortification in it as well).
We headed up some stairs, and found a new passage. We continued forward
when without warning a bolt shot from a nearly invisible hole in the wall
and nailed Standish in the back.
Though it glistened of poison, the potency had long since faded. We
discovered a small niche with the mechanical trap, but no one had been
operating it for some time.
We continued forward and realized our mistake too late. Brigling plunged
through the floor when it suddenly opened up beneath him, and he landed in
a pit, trapped as the floor swung shut. It took a great deal of effort,
but eventually we held it open with a crowbar long enough for Brigling to
escape. Continuing down the passageway, Brigling was suddenly slammed
against the ceiling and back down again as an area of reverse gravity
suddenly activated.
