We are back home in New Teft.
We find a scroll to buy for 1500gp. It is Illusionist, cast at level 10, Phantom Steed x2, Rope Trick, Dispel Exhaustion. Zephram already has Rope Trick, so he should be able to copy 2 and cast 2. Dispel Exhaustion is 4th level, so he’ll have to wait to copy it.

Set sail for the Ancients’ City on the Northern Coast.
February 14, 2193
We arrive at the Ancients’ City and find that the docks are covered with a dome that rises out of the water instead of starting from the top of the standard white wall. The water level inside the dock space is about 2 feet below the choppy seas. At the dock is
There is a clearing with lots of very large dinosaur skeletons to the southeast. There is a small village in the northwest shelter of the domes at the foot of the cliffs.
There are a dozen structures with heavily armed orcs in the village. It appears to be families living around a shrine that looks like a pile of oceanic debris. There are probably 50 to 100 of them.
February 19, 2193
Our scouting pays off. There about 6 in charge with one shaman or cleric at the top of the pecking order. They are not growing anything or making anything. It appears that dinosaurs don’t come particularly close. They have 7 orcs being held prisoner inside the village. They are arguing about when to go get more stuff. There about 70 of them. It sounds like they have to get stuff but it isn’t clear that they would be going anywhere, they would “just get stuff.” They say it needs to be within the month but it isn’t clear where or how they would get stuff. There appear to be at least a couple of orcish boats in the pile. They treat it with a great deal of deference. They eat packed rations out of casks and boxes that are labeled in orcish and Burke. Behind one of the buildings is a mostly disassembled coastal vessel. It is easy to get more stuff but they are afraid to draw too much attention by getting more stuff.
On the fourth night one of the orcs is dragged out and all 80 figures gather. The total of combatants seems to be about 60. The leader lights the orc and the leader drops three worms on his head. He screams and the flame goes green. The ashes of the orc are thrown out over the crowd and then he throws the rest toward the city and they disperse.
There are no changes in their conversations after the sacrifice. There are 10 perimeter guards and two more at the shaman’s house
February 24, 2193
One of the guys behind him is badly hurt and one is instantly slain. The shaman and his guards shrug off the Lightning Bolt, but the shaman starts casting a spell with no apparent effect and then he starts casting healing spells that helps himself and his two buddies and the one that was badly hurt. The pile took almost maximum damage and then the orcs start rebuilding the pile. We decide to wait for the second Call Lightning to be available.
Serlisse wings them, but Fred Pool Balls them and finishes the rest of guards and misses on the rebound but kills 9 scrubs and two perimeter guards. The archers rain death upon the shaman, including Sputnik who hits for 14 total. The non-archers start heading down the ropes to demand their surrender.
The guy we’ve been peppering with arrows grows 3 foot spines from his back and simultaneously dies. The other dude drinking a potion survived Fred’s second lightning bolt there are about 20 still trying to fight. The second guy then grows spines. Another orc throws a Lightning Javelin and the javelin misses but the Bolt wings Fred.
The Blood Hawks kill three children.
On segment 16, the second priest releases a jar of worms and it infects a few, but the priest drops on his own head. Serlisse Fairy Fires the worms and the heads of the infected orcs glow due to the worms. Arthur Repulses 20 into the ground and Fred Sleeps the rest. Raybur and Sputnik hold 4 of the infected five. Shirlard kills the fifth and his head explodes throwing a worm on her, which Sputnik kills.
Talarian chases him and hits him hard. Costigan finishes him and the worms explode, but Costigan is able to kill the living worm and the three little ones die.
Another jar was evidently thrown into the second Entangle and we have to slay all of the infected ones.
The highest ranking orc is fully uncooperative. A scrub is somewhat cooperative. They were worshippers of a demon prince of disease. We find a poorly trapped box of coins.
This is a group of demon worshippers, they worship diseases. They have a deal that drops the sea level around the dome that allows the ghost ship to leave for the night and the next day they have to be back and they bring back stuff and give 25% of the prisoners to the orcs and half of the money. There are Walrusmen nearby. The city is full of undead orcs. They used to live to the west and he came for the money. He figured that we needed to know that the chest was trapped with “The Wisps.” It takes a Heal to cure it. There is a fast version. If Fred has that version, we’d know but there is also a slow version. The potions were Essence of Porcupine. He had a set of six when they arrived, but he wasn’t high enough to get one. The crazy captain orc spoke Orcish. The deal was worked before the village arrived. He thinks there are a couple gross of undead orcs on the ship.
The dome vanishes when the water level drops and the ship sails out. It appears back in the dome the next morning. The worms were used in the ceremony. There was a number three guy that was accused of trying to kill the leader. They tied him up in an earthen pit and they threw the worm on the other side of the pit. There was a lot of screaming and the cultists filled in the pit four days later. They did it last fall.
The undead stagger around with rotting flesh. They may have been raiding cities or ships. Each of the city’s domes/bubbles seem to be separate.

Near the dinosaur killing field, a 3’x3’x3’ uniform cube of meat appears from a portal and then two tyrannosaurs kill the three dinosaurs that come to eat it. It appears every day or three. It’s not the same color from time to time, but it is always uniform in color. It was never alive and never killed. It appears to be vegetarian in nature.
